You know my dad? How would you know my dad, and how does he not know?!?!
OOOooooo wait, father as in biological father not my dad?!? Okay, really?! Wow! Hmm
I always knew the pregnancy was a hidden pregnancy. Being hidden, I just assumed my biological father never knew about me. So although the curiosity had always been there I didn’t think a whole lot about it because I figured I would never know, and Karen told me she didn’t know, way back on our first conversation. So, that was that.
But, now he’s real, he exists, and she wanted to tell him before she traveled to meet me. . . Oh yea, she’s coming here to meet me, soon, like really soon.
She called up Stan and told him everything, he asked her to give me his information and to reach out to him if I’d like too. He received the shocking news very well, with a spinning head, but very well.
Wow, what news! This is NOTHING that I could have put together in my wildest dreams. Which I think I have said this sentence half a dozen times in the last couple weeks.
Now let me just paint this picture for you. Hubster recently had surgery, just a day or so after this surgery I got the message on ancestry. Then 4 days later I’m talking to Karen on the phone with this news that her family knows, my half brother knows, I have a biological father; and he knows, and she will be traveling here soon so we can meet. With this Hubster got the stomach bug while he was in recovery, Littlest Dunne has strep plus the flu, and the stomach bug, while me Mom is somehow trying to figure out what in the hell is going on in my life.
In the matter of few short months I went from knowing nothing, to having the whole new extended family. As I lay here in my bed, in the middle of the night thinking about all of this, I still don’t know if I have really fully understood all that has happened.
I still don’t have words to express how I am feeling, but it’s a good feeling. A happy feeling, I’m feeling full.
